Colour Wheel Prints M12

Carrie's lesson 7-8yr olds
I wanted to do some colour theory with M12 today which also used a printmaking process, so after we discussed primary and secondary colours, the class went about drawing and painting their colour wheels. I had pre-cut polystyrene triangles for the print element and got them thinking about a design that would continue around the wheel when repeated. They used a series of lines to divide their triangle, then used different patterns in each section.

The strong bold colours worked well with the graphic black print and was noticed by the children
when we had a feedback session on  their artwork.

We had a print station for inking their print blocks.
They brought this back to their table to print.
