6 and 7 year olds.
The last of the calendar art projects. Six weeks to get to every class and make art to offer to parents as possible calendars or cards.
The children designed their own bird houses. We talked briefly about the houses looking 3D. But I didn't dwell on this as it can get complicated for 6 year olds. Instead we focussed on design, shape, pattern and how they would be positioned in the garden.
The backgrounds are wax crayon rubbings. I encouraged overlapping of colours and patterns. The little houses have extra colour added using cotton buds and concentrated dye.
The bird is cut out and added at the end.
The spinner worked well today. I had about 30 minutes set aside for the children to make them at the end of the day.
