Inquiry for the term is the Olympics, so after some observational drawing to start the day, I read 'The Boring Book' by Vasanti Unka to get them thinking about how words can be used to create art.
We had a brainstorm about the Olympics where they came up with a good variety of words to use in their backgrounds (This was a crayon and dye piece)
|The students then designed a trophy that could be given to a team at the Olympics, these were attached|
to their backgrounds with a folded paper pop out (they enjoyed making the pop out feature and some went on to help others)
