Hundertwasser inspired calendar art M11

Carrie's lesson

The goal for today was to produce artwork suitable for calendars, notecards etc (The annual school fundraiser)
We looked at the art and architecture of Hundertwasser and the children used this as inspiration for a watercolour background which was printed over with a repeat design. Most of the class grasped the concept of repeat printmaking and ensured their designs would connect in some way.
At the end of the day, they had the opportunity to reflect on their work, what they had enjoyed and what they would do differently next time. I think they were all pretty happy with the results.

Carefully lining up print

Painting the background in watercolour

We started the day with observational drawing
