Space Craft designs M14

It's not often I forget to dropbox my art day photos, but that's just what I did today. The art is on display in the classroom now. Two pieces of art are in the "Artist of the Week" frame outside the office, looking very smart. Fortunately the lesson was one I took last week with another class.

The difference was the amount of time we had at our disposal. The children went to an African drumming performance in the school hall after morning tea.
So the children designed their spacecraft, inside and out, but didn't go on to set it in a space background.

By referring to the task as spacecraft design, rather than spaceship or rocket design, the children were more lateral with their designing. Some designs were more like space stations which was refreshing.
