|Reference photo, initial sketch, black crayon line drawing, ready for chalk.|
Today was swimming day, therefore the art component
of the day was reduced by 1/3. The energy levels of the
children after swimming were also reduced. Therefore I
decided to conduct a calm, straight forward lesson.
A simple observational sketch of the lighthouse, followed
by a black wax crayon line drawing of it on black paper.
The chalk was messy for some, but an eraser removed a lot
of unwanted chalk dust.
A few children blended the chalk and created some
lovely new colours.
