9 and 10 year olds.
I displayed three vessels which the children drew in bold outlines, using black crayon. I asked them to draw each one a few times so they would be familiar with the shapes.
They chalked the vessel shapes onto a piece of pastel paper, overlapping them as if they were transparent.
Hot and cold colours are applied using oil pastels.
They brushed indian ink all over the picture and washed it off under running water. We trialled leaving it on for a while. The ink became darker.
