Greek columns. M14

Observational drawing of an early daffodil.

Making the cardboard relief.

Taking multiple crayon rubbings from the relief.

8 year olds.
The children are knowledgeable about things Greek. They used their understanding of Greek columns to make a stand suitable for holding a Greek vase.
They drew their column and vase first and then created it using card.
We found that pencil lines would also show up in the rubbings, so they included a bit of detail this way.
They used four colours on top of each other (lightest first) to make the crayon rubbings.
The children mounted their own work.
