Greek Urns M14

Greek Urns
7 and 8 year olds

Preparing the scratch page
Painting the scratch page.

A practice drawing.

Drawing the other side of the urn by looking through the paper.

Urn sketches to be copied onto the painted page.

The children are studying ancient Greek in their class. I used their interest to enhance work on Greek Urns in the art room.

I provided a few examples of patterns that were used on traditional urns. Also a few urn shapes for the children to refer to.

The idea to draw half of the urn, fold the page vertically, hold it up to the window and copy the other side, worked well.
