ANZAC, Poppies M12

7 and 8 year olds

This class's teacher has agreed to be supportive of the ANZAC project I have been asked to do.

The local historic society is creating a display in the community hall on ANZAC day (Remembrance Day) They have asked for art work from local schools, about the different monuments around Wellington. We have a bell tower in our school grounds that is rung on ANZAC day. I have begun the project with poppies which I will carry on with next art day and include the bell tower.

The children created their backgrounds using watercolour paint and cling film. Thank you Gail. http://www.thatartistwoman.org/2010/11/poppy-mixed-media.html

They 'invented' their own way of making poppies using the variety of red coloured material I prepared for them.
