Fish Applique V3

9 and 10 year olds.

This is a variation on the previous few stitching lessons I have taken recently. The change is the stitching of a fish shape, cut out of fabric, instead of the initial letter. The children stuck the fish shape onto the hessian before stitching it on. Several children managed the blanket stitch brilliantly.

  1. I regard this applique as a very high standard of creative work. The students have combined their learned skills of colour choice, fabric texture, cutting, placement and sewing with different stitching and different coloured threads to complete original vibrant work. Luckily these students live in Wellington and may find a career path for themselves in the future! Show Victor Anderlini and Jude Hutt!
