|Green Eggs and Ham|
Carrying on with Dr Seuss as a theme. I read "Green eggs and ham" to the children. We talked about Sam, what he looks like, the colours used to make him, his hat and the tray of food he tried to give away.
The children drew him and his tray of food with pen and coloured him with pencil.(No illustration sorry)
Then we focussed on the ride out of the tunnel, across the hills and into the sea. This covers 4 or 5 pages in the book. I gave the children a long piece of paper for them to record this part of the journey. They used black markers. They were to focus on detail. They coloured the picture as Dr Seuss would have, using his limited palette of water colour paint.
And a 3D component which the children really enjoyed.
The children cut out a piece of cardboard in the shape of a plate, put a design on it using crayon and added cardboard eggs and ham.
