9 year olds.
This paper mache exercise has taken a very long time. Each stage takes time to do and then there is the drying time. I think some of the children lost faith in their work as time went on. In their self appraisal, several children said they would have made a much smaller bird next time, in order to put their efforts into finishing carefully.
Check out the beginning of these creations.
I would take note of the children reflections if I take this lesson again. I would encourage smaller creatures.Today there was a big separation between those children who had almost finished and those who where still to put on the first coat of paint. Attaching a string to hang them by was also a challenge. We managed to get a string through some, but had to create a sting sling for others.
