Animal patterns

At by 5 and 6 year olds.
This art day involved etching, cutting, drawing, gluing and painting. A lot of skills to master. An A3 page was coloured with yellow wax crayon. Then it was painted with green paint. Once it was dry, the children used kebab sticks to etch the grass into the paint.
A separate page was coloured with an animal skin pattern. The page was turned over and an animal outline was drawn and cut out. When the animal is turned over, he is patterned. This was confusing for many of the little ones. The animals were stuck to the grassy page.
