PVA relief.
Space work by 6 year olds.
The background is black paper with constellations added using crayon. The space rocket is drawn using PVA glue, which has been coloured with dye powder. The glue is applied using a small plastic pottle with a narrow applicator. It takes up to a day to dry, depending in the heavy handedness of the artist. A photo of the astronaut/artist is put on the front. The planets are blended pastel, after studying the colours on different planets. This class had previously done a lot of work about the solar system, making this art lesson flow very smoothly.
