fish wrapping paper

Seven year old artwork.
The children were asked to make two fish templates, one larger. I'm not a believer in giving children templates I have made. That makes it our art, not theirs. The template is traced around with marker pen, repeating all over the page. Then a pattern is added and repeated on each fish. They are painted in warm colours using water colour paint, taking care that what they do to one fish, they do to the next. Flip the page over and draw on the seaweed etc. Flip it back and hold it up to the window. Go over the lines with marker pen, avoiding the fish. Colour the rest of the picture with cool colours.
